SRINAGAR: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday paid tribute to Dr Farooq Ashaie while terming him as a “great soul, who throughout his life stood for the cause of freedom and justice”.
“Dr Farooq Ashaie remained steadfast while fighting for the human rights of Kashmiris and as a doctor always cared for his patients. The brutal way in which he was martyred by Indian forces still remains a glaring proof of Indian oppression in Jammu Kashmir,” the ailing Malik said in a statement issued here from hospital.
He also paid tributes to JKLF martyrs, Jalil Ahmad Shah, Abdul Gani Wani alias Sher Khan and Muhammad Yasin Najar.As per statement, JKLF leaders including Syed Nisar Jeelani, Ghulam Qadir Khan, Molvi Reyaz and Abdul Qayoom visited the residences of martyrs and paid tributes to them.
Meanwhile, a JKLF delegation led by its vice-chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat visited Trehgam, Kupwara and expressed condolence to the bereaved family of the deceased Zikra Maqbool Bhat (wife of JKLF co-founder, Muhammad Maqbool Bhat).
