SRINAGAR: As a part of its statewide outreach programme, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Thursday organised two entrepreneurship awareness programmes at Nagrota and Dansal areas of Jammu division.
The programmes witnessed a participation of about 300 people from minority communities.
The awareness programme at Government Middle School Nagrota was attended by 160 people. Block Development Officer (BDO) Nagrota, Sushil Kumar Sharma, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Sarpanch Nagrota, Rameshwar Dutt, was also present.
The JKEDI team comprising of Dr Vinod Kumar and Vishal Singh coordinated the awareness programme and made the participants aware about term loan scheme of National Minorities and Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC) being implemented by JKEDI for educated unemployed youth of the state.
A detailed overview of other entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by JKEDI was provided to the participants with special discussion on NMDFC. Officials from different allied departments also attended the programmes.
The awareness programme at Dansal Panchayat Ghar was attended by more than 140 people. Tehsildar Dansal, Sober Jameela, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Sarpanch of Jajarkotli, Madanmohan Dubey, and sarpanch of Dansal, Balwan Singh, were also present.
The institute offers different schemes including NMDFC’s term loan under which financial assistance is given to aspiring entrepreneurs at six percent per annum simple interest rate.
