Pune: India’s education policy should be formulated after taking note of a variety of experiments being conducted country wide along with the traditional skills, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said.
“Education policy of the country is being formulated.
There are experiments in education being carried on from Mizoram to Kashmir and up to Kanyakumari that needs to be taken into account while deciding it.
“Education should relate to traditional skills and eternal human values. It should kindle self-respect in the individual,” he said at a function organized by “Gurukul” school, which imparts traditional skill oriented education to students of nomadic tribes at Chinchwad near here last night.
Regretting that despite being a fundamental right, a large section of the society had remained deprived of education, Bhagwat said children of nomadic tribes should be brought in mainstream by educating them and giving them self-respect.
He urged people to cleanse the society of undesirable retrograde customs and promote education that is based on eternal human values. PTI
