Abducted girl rescued from Delhi, one held: Kashmir Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a kidnapper, who had abducted girl in north Kashmir’s Handwara.
“The investigation team succeeded in tracing the kidnapper in Delhi. The kidnapper was held and the girl was rescued,” said police handout.
It said a complaint was lodged with Handwara Police that a girl (name withheld) was kidnapped by Shoib Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh with the assistance of Azad Ahmad.
“An investigation team headed by SHO Kralgund Azim Iqbal under the supervision of SP Handwara Ghulam Jeelani Wani was formed and investigation was taken up. During the investigation it surfaced that the kidnapper has taken the girl outside the state,” it said.
It said the investigations revealed that mastermind behind the commission of offence was “uncle of the kidnapper Hilal Ahmad Sheikh.”
