JAMMU: The Department of Agriculture Sub-Division, Marh organised a farmers’ awareness camp at Panchayat Ghar, Kangrail .
Nearly, 150 farmers of the area took part in the camp.
Agriculture Extension Officer Mishriwalla Mohan Singh Jamwal, Junior Agriculture Extension Officer Kangrail Arun Jaral besides other senior officers of the department were present in the camp.
During the camp, the farmers were educated about various centrally and State Sponsored Schemes which can play an important role in their socio economic development of the farmers. The experts educated farmers about soil testing, organic farming, crop rotation, gully plugging organic farming besides telling them about the measures to be taken for intensive and extensive cropping. Besides, special focus was laid on appearance of yellow rust in wheat if any symptoms, casual organisms and its remedial measures.
The experts in the field of agriculture also educated the farmers about the benefits of Kissan Credit Card and stressed upon them to avail the benefits of the other schemes under the Agriculture sector.
