ANANTNAG: Thirteen-year-old boy turned out to be the killer of his father Abdul Hamid Malik who was found dead last Tuesday in his fields at Bargam village of Dooru in this south Kashmir district.
A day after recovery of the body of Imam, residents of the area had on Wednesday observed a shutdown and also blocked the road. They demanded that the murder case be solved immediately.
Police registered an FIR under section 302 and started investigations. During the course of investigations, police picked up for questioning many suspects including Mohsin Hamid Malik, the son of the deceased.
A police official said that after the daylong interrogation, Malik confessed to have killed his father.
The station house officer (SHO), Dooru, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, said the victim’s son revealed that he attacked his father with an axe while he working in his fields alone on Tuesday morning.
He said Malik also revealed that his strained relation with his parents led him to commit the murder.
The officer said the boy has been booked for murder and sent to Juvenile Home, Srinagar.
