Srinagar: Muslim League Jammu Kashmir on Wednesday expressed grief over the demise of mother of its member Muhammad Hamza Mir and nephew of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat general secretary, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.
In a statement issued here, League’s spokesperson Muhammad Rafiq Ganaie said that a delegation led by party’s acting general secretary Abdul Ahad Parra visited Yaroo, Langate and Tikipora, Lolab and expressed condolence and solidarity with both bereaved families.
He said Parra was accompanied by Malik Ghulam Nabi, Muhammad Akram Najar and Naseer Ahmad Hajam.
“The delegation also conveyed condolence on behalf of Muslim League chairman, Masarat Alam Bhat and prayed for heavenly abode of the deceased. Abdul Ahad Parra also shed light on themes of life and death,” he said.
The spokesperson also condemned the “unjustified” arrest of Muslim League leaders, Bashir Ahmad Budgami, Muhammad Muzaffar Jan, Peer Abdul Majeed, Riyaz Ahmad Mir, Abdul Majeed Gojri and Sanaullah Dar.
“Government must immediately release these leaders,” the spokesperson said.
