Muslims League thanks Pakistan for solidarity

SRINAGAR: Thanking Pakistan for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day, Muslim League Jammu Kashmir on Saturday said Pakistan is an asset for the entire Muslim world.
“In spite of being the victim of foreign conspiracies and internal disturbances, Pakistan continued to offer sacrifices for oppressed Kashmiris. We are fully conscious of this fact,” League’s acting chairman, Muhammad Yousuf Mir, said while addressing a programme here.
He said Pakistan must spur its endeavours vis-à-vis highlighting the Kashmir issue at global forums and must remain firm on its Kashmir policy. “Pakistan has rendered immense sacrifices for Kashmir and has fought wars over this issue. So it is duty bound to safeguard the freedom struggle of Kashmir by exhibiting rock-like stand in this regard.”
Mir also urged Pakistan to take strong cognisance of the “oppressive and suppressive” policies adopted by India upon Kashmiris and use its influence in securing the release of Kashmiri prisoners including the incarcerated Muslim League chairman, Masarat Alam Bhat.
League’s general secretary, Abdul Ahad Parra and pro-freedom leader, Sheikh Tajamul Islam also addressed the programme. Party spokesperson, Muhammad Rafiq Ganaie and others were also present.
