Forces conduct searches in Tangmarg villages

Baramulla: The government forces including army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of police are carrying out search operations in the villages at Tangmarg.
According to the villagers, the forces conduct searches in the villages including Chanpora, Gonipora, Lolipora, Dobiwan, and Bongam during the nights and in daytime. The operations have been going on for the last one week, they said.
The forces seem to have inputs about the presence of militants in the area, the villagers said.
“On Thursday afternoon, the forces once again cordoned some villages, and searched the entire village,” they said.
Meanwhile, gunshots were heard in Ceelo, Sopore, on Thursday.
The locals said a passenger travelling in a Sumo from Kupwara to Sopore fired some shots in air, creating panic. The soldiers from the nearby army camp reached the spot to investigate the incident, but didn’t detain anyone.
Source told Kashmir Reader that it was an SOG man who fired the shots.
