Burglars’ gang busted in Sopore, property worth lakhs recovered

Sopore: Police on Wednesday said it have arrested nine local burglars from Sopore town and recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees from their possession.
Acting against the growing incidents of burglaries in Sopore town and its adjacent areas, efforts were made by the police in which full night patrolling and nakas were intensified in the town.
“During the continuous drive against the burglars of Sopore town couple of persons was arrested and during interrogation process, they revealed the names of other burglars. This is one of the biggest gang of burglars which has been unearthed and we expect many burglary cases will be solved in coming days,” Superintendent of police Sopore, Abdul Qayoom told reporters in a press conference here.
The officer identified the apprehended burglars as Umar Mehraj Bhat S/O Mehrajdin Bhat R/O Amargarh Tarzoo,Adil Ashraf Khan S/O Mohd Ashraf Khan R/O Peth Seer,Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/O Ali Mohd Bhat R/O Amargarh,Muneer Ahmad Sofi S/O Mohd Maqbool Sofi R/O Sempora Bomai,Zahid Ahmad Khan S/O Gh Nabi Khan R/O Peth Seer,Mohd Shafi Rather S/O Mohd Yousuf Rather R/O duroo Sopore,Khurshid Ahmad Dar S/O Abdul Rashid Dar R/O Dangerpora Sopore,Dilawar Ahmad Bhat S/O Abdul Ahad Bhat R/O Tarzoo,Aqib Ahmad Rather S/O Ajaz Ahmad Rather R/O Peth seer.
A huge quantity of food spices and oil canes, sixteen gas cylinders, two generators, one Tv set, One bull, and one cow have been recovered from them.
