Traffic police crack whip on passenger vehicles

Srinagar: Traffic police on Monday crack whip on passenger service vehicles for overloading, intermittent wrong stops, without driving licenses and board/de-board of passengers other than designated stops.
In its special drive, the traffic police imposed 138 challans with fine realisation to the tune of Rs 47,500 besides 15 vehicles were seized.
“To ensure convenience to general public, all public transport operators are advised and warned to strictly abide by the charter of responsibilities/agreements made from time to time and provide better transport facilities to public from dawn to dusk as enshrined under law,” a traffic police official said in a statement issued here.
He advised public transport operators to board/de-board passengers at designated bus stops, availability of valid documentation of vehicles, avoid slow and delayed operations.
