SRINAGAR: Muslim League on Wednesday urged people to safeguard sacrifices to take the ongoing struggle to its logical conclusion.
A spokesman of Muslim league said a delegation headed by its acting general secretary Abdul Ahad Parra visited Kupwara and paid tributes to 27 innocent persons killed by army in the frontier district on January 27, 1994.
“It is because of the sacrifices of the people that ongoing struggle is going on and, as such, we need to safeguard them,” Parra was quoted as addressing people on the occasion.
He said that on January 27, 1994 Indian army opened indiscriminate fire on people and killed 27 persons without any fault.
Muslim League also paid tributes to Hizb militant killed in an encounter with police and army in Anatnag district on Monday.
The party said the martyrs’ scarifices would not be allowed to go waste. The people should respect the scarifices and take their mission to its logical conclusion.
The party spokesman also demanded immediate release of district president, in-charge, Bandipora Muzaffar Ahmad Jan and Mansoor Ahmad Khan of Kakapora who were arrested on January 26.
