SRINAGAR: Agriculture department will ask Fertiliser wholesalers to link with Mobile Fertiliser Management System (mFMS) portal to update their supply and stock position on weekly basis.
This was disclosed during a review by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi Agriculture with officials and Fertiliser marketing companies here on implementation of mFMS besides stocking and availability of different chemical fertilisers in Kashmir Division.
The Director Agriculture instructed the officers present in the meeting to connect their wholesalers with portal mFMS and update the supplies and stock position weekly.
The director also impressed on adequate supply of quality fertilisers to the farmers as the Kharief season is commencing from February and also besides meeting requirements of fertilisers for fruit crops.
He directed the fertiliser dealers to regulate the supplies and ensure easy availability and of fertilisers. He said that the licences of erring dealers will be cancelled who are found in undue profiteering. The representatives of the fertiliser companies informed the Director that sufficient stocks of supplies have been dumped at the Rack Point Nowgam and will be made available to the consumers of Central and North Kashmir in the due course of time..
For catering to fertiliser needs South Kashmir the Rack Point has been kept at Udhampur. The representatives of the Companies jointly requested the Director Agriculture Kashmir for taking up the matter with the government regarding the shifting of Rack Point from Udhampur to Awantipora.
The Director impressed upon the District Nodal Officers to monitor the supplies and also instructed the wholesale dealers to give weekly information to the Nodal Officers.
