Cross LoC bus suspended due to landslides, shooting stones

Baramulla: The cross-LoC bus service was today suspended due to incessant rains that triggered landslides in the frontier Uri town of this north Kashmir district.

Sub-divisional magistrate Uri, Showkat Ahmad Rather told Kashmir Reader that the service has been suspended due to heavy rainfall that triggered landslides and shooting stones along the hilly stretch.

The cross-LoC bus service was started in April 2005 as part of confidence building measures between India and Pakistan to allow the divided families living on either sides of Line of Control to meet each other.
