SRINAGAR: A well-known businessman and managing director of Khyber Group of Industries, Mohammad Maqbool Tramboo, passed away on Friday after a brief illness.
Tramboo was flown back to Srinagar from a Delhi hospital last week and was on ventilator for some time at his Gogjibagh residence. He passed away on Friday afternoon.
A large number of people from across the Valley participated in his funeral procession.
Tramboo was the brain child behind Khyber Milk, a household name in Kashmir. He also pioneered Khyber cements along with his brother, becoming one of the leading cement producers in the Valley.
Meanwhile chief minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, expressed grief over Tramboo’s demise. In his condolence message, Mufti Sayeed conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Managing director Helpline Group, Haji Hayat, also expressed grief over the sad demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Travel Trade Bodies organised a condolence meeting and prayed for forbearance to the family to bear this loss.
