JSPL foundation to honour grassroots talent in JK

Srinagar: Jindal Steel and Power Limited Foundation has launched a programme to honour talent at the grassroots level in Jammu & Kashmir, a spokesman of the company said on Friday.
He said that in this scheme ( Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Samman) the deserving candidates will get a chance to showcase their untold stories of courage and determination at highest level in India.
“In the 10 categories identified, 10 awards will be given to individuals and 10 to organisations. Prize money would be Rs 1 lakh each,” he said.
The spokesman said that United Nations Global Compact Network (India) is the knowledge partner to the programme and will earmark the parameters and finalise the awardees with the help of 4 regional juries and one national jury.
He said that call for entries started from September 22 and will end on November 10.
He said that final award ceremony will be held on January 14.

JSPL foundation has held such similar SwayamsiddhSamman awards previously in the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand in March, May and July this year respectively, states where JSPL has a significant presence, he said.
