Ganderbal: Kashmir Pandits and non-local Hindus celebrated Dusshera at Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulmulla with fervor.
They burnt effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnath, which attracted a large number of onlookers from the majority community as well.
Pandits from various parts of the Valley thronged the shrine which is held in high esteem by them.
“Such festive occasions show brotherhood and communal harmony among the people of Kashmir. Festivals give us opportunities to promote and strengthen the communal harmony,” said Veer Jee Raina, a Kashmir Pandit.
Veer said that Kashmiri Pandits strongly condemn the attack, in Udhampur on October 9, which led to the death of a Kashmiri trucker last week. He said some anti-social elements are carrying these attacks to vitiate the social fabric of the state.
