Srinagar: Vinod Sharma on Wednesday assumed charge as Chief Executive Officer, J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (JKERA), replacing the BR Sharma, who is presently the Chief Secretary of the state.
According to a press statement issued here, Sharma was accorded a warm welcome by ERA officers and staff.
After assuming the charge, he chaired a meeting to review the progress of projects being executed by the agency in Kashmir province, it said. Sharma, alumni of erstwhile Regional Engineering College (which is now NIT) has a degree in civil engineering, it said, adding that he has already held important positions including that of Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, and Director Central J&K ERA.
He is also the former Chairman of Institute of Engineers (India), Jammu centre, it said.
