Srinagar: The Pension & Group Schemes (P&GS) unit of LIC on Wednesday organised a seminar for NGOs’ regarding Aam Admi Bima Yojna.
In a statement, a spokesman said that the seminar was held under the aegis of directorate of Handicrafts, Union ministry of Textiles at Srinagar, in connection with the social security month celebrations.
The spokesman said that the social security schemes are aimed at improving the social and economic standard of the people.
The spokesman said that H L Pandita (SBM) & J S Dutta (BM) P&GS highlighted the various benefits, like death/disability and scholarships etc being provided to the artisans and other 48 underprivileged income groups of the society at the seminar.
An interactive session culminated with a vote of thanks from M A Pandow from Valley Women’s Welfare Society, he added.
