NABARD organizes farmers’ interface prog at Kupwara

Srinagar: NABARD on Tuesday conducted a district level farmers’ interface programme at Agriculture complex in Kupwara, a government official said.
He said that the programme was aimed at giving information of latest technologies in Agriculture sector. “The members of various farmers’ club formed under NABARD/farmer’s clubs scheme attended the said programme besides a large number of progressive farmers of the district.”
The programme was organised in collaboration with department of Agriculture, the official said.
He said that during the function DDM, NABARD urged upon the farmers to form more farmers’ clubs so as to avail the benefits of various schemes. He said NABARD provides support to farmers clubs for their functioning.
The official said that chief agriculture officer, Kupwara, impressed upon the farmers to adopt the best practices in farming. Scientist from KVK, agriculture and horticulture delivered lectures on the proper use of fertilizers, etc.
