Mughal road reopens for traffic

Pulwama: Authorities on Tuesday allowed traffic to pass through Mughal road, linking Valley with the twin district of Rajouri and Poonch, after a day’s closure due to snowfall.
SP Shopian, Mohammad Altaf Khan, told Kashmir Reader that the traffic was restored on the highway after the snow was cleared from Pir-ki-Gali, Dubjan, Bafliaz and other places of the district this afternoon.
As many as 141 trucks that were stopped on Monday due to slippery road conditions were allowed to proceed towards their destinations.
“158 truckers were rescued by the police from the area, 22 of them were accommodated at police station, Heerpora,” said Khan.
