Pulwama: Mughal road linking Valley with the twin district of Rajouri and Poonch was today thrown open for traffic after a day’s closure due to snowfall.
SP Shopian Mohammad Altaf Khan told Kashmir Reader that the traffic was restored on the highway after the snow was cleared from Pir-ki-Gali, Dubjan, Bafliaz and other places of the district this afternoon. All the 141 truckers that were halted on Monday due to slippery road conditions were allowed to proceed towards their destinations.
“158 truckers were rescued by the police from snow bound Road. 22 of them were accommodated at police station Heerpora,” SP Shopian Mohammad Altaf Khan.
