SRINAGAR: J&K Forest XI beat J&K Bank XI by 4-2 in tie breaker in the final of Knockout Football Tournament on Saturday played at Bakshi Stadium.
There was nothing to choose between the two sides. If it were JK Bank XI who controlled the first half, Forest XI didn’t give them an inch in the second half. The quality of sport was quite intense with both teams not ready to concede an inch as both teams failed to score in stipulated 90 minutes.
But 90 minutes of play produced something very far from what was predicted in the buildup to the most prominent encounter. With two of the most followed clubs-JK Bank XI and JK Forest XI-in action.
J&K Bank upped the ante with their forward lines pressing some fine moves either side of the flank, but Forest XI defence was alert enough to thwart their moves
Players were in no mood to be friendly on the ground with the game witnessing heated words exchanged.
