SRINAGAR: Raushan Raj claimed a seven-wicket haul as J&K were bowled out for 85runs, on the inaugural day of their group-C, Ranji Trophy match against Services at Jammu on Thursday.
The hosts were bundled out in 43 overs with only two bats¬men, opener Shubam Khajuria (24) and Parvez Rasool (24*) reg-istering double figures.
Put into bat at the Gandhi Me¬morial Science College Ground, J&K lost their opener Adil Reshi (8) in the fifth over and soon the innings fell like a pack of cards.
None of the J&K batsmen was able to put a decent show with the willow. J&K batsmen threw away their wickets courtesy poor shoot selection.
The score card of J&K teams looked like a mobile number with scores (8,6,4,5,0,0,1,6,2) with two batsmen even failing to open their account.
It was a timid display from the hosts, exhibiting below par batting performance
J&K batsmen looked out of sorts and had no clue how to han¬dle seaming deliveries and were blown away in a blink by Right arm medium pacer, Raushan Raj who rattled the top order of J&K, Diwesh Gurdev Pathania palying the second fiddle with three wickets to his name.
In reply Services also had a shaky start, losing quick three wickets. Opener Soumik Chatterjee was dismmised by Ram Dayal in the fifth over, and that was followed by one-down batsman Ravi Chauhan getting out for a four-ball duck on the first delivery of the eighth over. Aanshul Gupta’s dismissal in the 16th over left Services at 49 for 3.
