Pulwama: A shutdown is being observed today in Awantipora town of this south Kashmir district to protest the unprovoked firing by the paramilitary CRPF on the civilians that left three injured.

All shops and business establishments remained closed in protest against the unprovoked firing by CRPF men during a traffic jam near the Jamia Masjid Awantipora on Tuesday evening that left three civilians Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Junaid Ahmad Shala and Danish Ahmad Dar injured.

The traffic, however was plying normally as heavy deployment of CRPF and police have been made to thwart any protest against the incident.
