Azam Inquilabi’s mother passes away, pro-freedom camp pays tribute

SRINAGAR: Mother of senior pro-freedom leader Azam Inquilabi passed away here on Tuesday.
Several pro-freedom leaders condoled the demise and expressed sympathy and solidarity with Inquilabi and other bereaved family members.
In a statement, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed grief over the demise.
“He (Mirwaiz) recalled the contribution of Inquilabi’s late mother toward Kashmir’s resistance movement and saluted her resolve and patience in battling the odds while her son and entire Kashmiri nation was fighting for their just rights,” a statement said.
According to the statement, Mirwaiz led her Nimaz-e-Jinazah (funeral prayers), which was attended by senior Hurriyat (M) leaders including advocate Shahidul Islam, Javaid Ahmad Mir and others. Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik also expressed grief and over the demise.He also participated in the funeral procession along with other party members.
Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise and prayed for the peace of the departed soul. “The deceased faced immense hardships in her life due to her son’s affiliations with freedom movement but remained committed and steadfast throughout her life,” Shah said.
Senior pro-freedom leaders including Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakim Abdul Rashid, , Bilal Sidiqi and Syed Bashir Andrabi in a joint statement also expressed grief over the demise.
