3 soldiers injured in Kupwara grenade attack

Srinagar: Three soldiers were injured today when suspected militants tossed a hand grenade at the office of a senior army officer in the heavily militarized Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

Around 2:10 pm today, suspected militants lobbed a hand grenade towards the office of the army’s Town Commander in the main town of the frontier district, a local news gathering agency GNS quoted the official sources as saying.

“The grenade, exploded near the army bunker, resulting in injuries to three soldiers of 41 RR. Four vehicles have also suffered damage during the incident,” sources said.

Soon after the attack, SOG, and army cordoned off the area and launched searches to nab the attackers.
