Protests in Pampore, Narabal over Udhampur attack

Srinagar: Scores of people staged protests in Pampore town and Narbal area of the city outskirts today against the attack on Kashmiri truckers by the activists of ring wing Hindu groups.

Dozens of people, most of them boys appeared on the Srinagar-Jammu higway near Drangbal Pampore and staged protests against the muderous assault on Kashmiri truckers in Udhampur, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. Angry protesters threw stones at the vehicles passing through the highway.

After the stone pelting incidents, contingents of police and CRPF troopers were deployed in the town to thwart more protests.

Meanwhile, reports of stone pelting protests have also been received from Narbal area of the city outskirts.
