Protesting volunteer died of heart attack, says NYC President

SRINAGAR: A volunteer of National Youth Corps (NYC), who was on a month-long hunger strike, died after suffering a heart attack at his home in Kishtwar district on Friday, NYC President Asif Ali Bhat told Kashmir Reader on Saturday.
Raj Kumar of Shatroo, Kishtwar, who was on hunger strike along with other volunteers in the capital city here since last month, died at this home on Friday night after suffering a major cardiac arrest, Bhat said.
Kumar, he said had developed complications after remaining on hunger strike with his colleagues.
“He was also depressed. We also took him to the SMHS hospital. The doctors there asked us to send him home. And on last night, he died of heart attack,” he added.
