‘Over Rs 11,000 crore spent to purchase power since 2013’

The government on Saturday said that it has spent Rs 11,000 crore to purchase power from outside the state since 2013.
In a written reply to a query by MLA Rajesh Gupta, chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that the government spent Rs 3945.850 during 2013-14, Rs 4719.604 during 2014-15 and Rs 2432.627 during 2015-16 (up to August 2015) on cost of energy purchased from outside state.
While giving-up the break-up, the government said it has recovered electricity dues highest from Jammu – Rs 503.29 crore (during 2013-14), Rs 512.17 (during 2014-15) and Rs 188.89 (during 2015-16).
“Kargil is the least electricity revenue generating area of the state – Rs 6.36 crore (in 2013-14), 7.71 crore (in2014-15) and 1.84 crore 9in 2015-16).
