2600 Hepatitis-C patients identified in south Kashmir

Srinagar: Around 2600 Hepatitis-C patients have been detected in various parts of south Kashmir, the government said on Saturday.
“We have taken up the outbreak of Hepatitis-C quite seriously after about 2000 people were tested positive after screening the patients in south Kashmir,” Minister of state for Health Aesia Naqash said.
She was replying to a query raised by MLA Kokernag Abdul Rahim Rather.
She said such patients would receive treatment free of cost. She said the free treatment was being given to Hepatitis C patients at District Hospital Anantnag and JLNM Rainawari.
