Ganderbal: Much to the dismay of public, Beehama bus stand has not been completed by the authorities despite passage of seven years.
Residents of the town said that they are facing many hardships in travel as there was no bus stand anywhere in the Ganderbal town. They accused the construction agency of being “unprofessional and lethargic”.
Construction of bus stand was started in 2009 by Ganderbal Municipal Committee.
The Committee was not able to complete the construction of the 17 crore project due to lack of funds. Following the development, the district development board handed over the project to R&B department in 2012.
Sami Arif, executive engineer R &B division 2, said that the land for the bus stand has not being fully acquired.
“The road leading to bus stand has not being fully acquired. We are in talks with owners of the land and after acquiring the land, we will start work on the project,” he said.
