SRINAGAR: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday organised an ‘All India Inter School Quiz Programme’ here in collaboration with the Education department.
An official handout issued here said the event was held at the Government College of Education, Srinagar. A number of students representing various schools of the Valley participated in the quiz, it said.
Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Mushtaq Ahmad was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Regional Director RBI D Sethi, Principal Government College of Education, Srinagar Dr Maqsooda Khan and other officers of RBI and Education department were also present, it said.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman JK Bank congratulated RBI for conducting the programme, which, he said, “will go a long way in enhancing the spirit of competition and the greater knowledge among young students”.
He said that taking a cue from RBI, JK Bank will also organise informative quiz programmes for students across the state. Regional Director, RBI said the aim of the programme was to inculcate general knowledge among the students with special reference to financial literacy.
He said similar programmes will be conducted at block and district levels. As per the release, students of various educational institutions also exhibited their talent in various cultural and literary activities during the programme.
The function ended with a prize distribution ceremony in which cash awards and certificates were distributed among the winners and participants, it said.
