SRINAGAR: The separate bus service for females has been discontinued in the state, the minister for transport, Adul Gani Kohli said in the Assembly on Friday.
The exclusive bus service for females that was started few years back saw a cold response and as such did not go further.
“Due to poor response, the venture proved to be economically disadvantageous,” the minister said.
The minister claimed that adequate numbers of seats have been reserved for female passengers and signboards have been displayed in the JK State Road Transport Corporation buses.
“Crew of the buses has been instructed to implement the reservation of seats,” Abdul Gani Kohli added.
