SRINAGAR: The government on Friday said that to provide quality education in government schools, rationalization of teachers has been initiated.
“As such 3582 schools have been brought under rationalization and over 5000 teachers have been deployed in schools with higher attendance,” minister for education, Naeem Akhter said in a written reply to a question posed by MLC, Mohammad Muzaffar Parray.
The rationalization was initiated in the state after it was noted that 146 schools had zero enrollment, while 3582 schools had enrollment of below 15.
“A transfer policy has been drafted to ensure stability of the tenure. Tenure shall range from two years to a maximum of three years. Also mid-term transfers will not be allowed,” Naeem Akhter added.
