Srinagar: The government on Thursday made it clear that it will not allow the proposed Qadiyani conference in Srinagar city.
District Development Commissioner Srin-agar, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, told a local news agency a Qadiyani organisation has written a formal letter to us seeking permission for holding a “Peace Conference in Srinagar on October 10.
“Keeping the sentiments of Muslims in view, we have decided not to allow this conference in Srinagar. The matter is very sensitive and we have already taken a final decision in this regard and have informed the organizers that they will not be permitted to hold any kind of conference here,” DC Srinagar said.
He added that some people have confusion that this group will be permitted to hold the conference which is “not true”. “We want to inform people that we have not allowed the organisers to hold this conference in Srinagar,” he added.
