Govt to set up coaching clinics to woo girls towards sports

Srinagar: The government on Thursday said that coaching centers have been established in nine districts in its bid to promote the participation of girls in sports activities.
“Local sports competitions are being conducted among girls and they will further be participating in zonal and state level competitions,” Minister for Youths and Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari said in a written reply to a query in the legislative Assembly.
He further said that the state sports council has also established Water Sports Center at Dal Lake to train the girls in various water sporting activities.He further said “An annual sports calendar has been framed and competitions at school, zonal and district level have been mentioned in it.”
