SRINAGAR: More than 18000 posts in various government departments are pending selection though the government has referred these to both the Service Selection Board and the Public Service Commission.
In a written reply to a query by MLC Vibodh Gupta, the government said that 16047 posts are pending selection with the Service Selection Board (SSB) while as 2632 posts, referred to PSC, also remain vacant till date.
“There is no time frame for filling up the vacancies as the process of recruitment gets delayed due to litigations,” minister incharge of the department, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said in the reply.
“The government has adopted a policy to fast track the recruitment in filling up of non-gazetted posts, as per government order dated June 30, 2015. The government also asserted that “no regular appointment has been made on the basis other than the recommendations of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission and Service Selection Board,” he added.
