Absence of ministers leads to uproar

SRINAGAR: After the end of question hour in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the government was cornered by BJP and Opposition party Congress members, as well as by MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Hakim Yaseen, and Engineer Abdul Rashid for not being in the House to answer questions. When government ministers, including CM Mufti Sayeed left the House, there was no one left from the government to answer any queries.
MLA Rafiabad Yawar Dilawar Mir asked the Speaker, “Why we are here when no one from the government is present to answer our questions?” After this remark, BJP legislators and Opposition members supported Yawar.“This is what we have been telling you: this government is not serious,” said GM Saroori, a Congressman.
Amidst the din, government ministers started returning to the House.
