SRINAGAR: Jehangir Bhat’s belligerent knock of 102 runs guided Wonder Boys Cricket Club to a thumping nine wicket victory over Forever Cricket Club in the second semi-final of Iqbal Khumanie (RA) Memorial Invitational t-20 cricket tournament on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 159, WCC achieved the set target in 15.5 over’s. WCC opener, Bhat came all guns blazing smashing FCC bowlers to every corner of the park. In his unbeaten 56 ball knock he hit half a dozen fours and same number of hits for maximum and helped his side to achieve the required target comfortably with nine wickets in hand. Middle order batsmen Wasim Ahmed and Mudasir Ahmad also contributed 29 and 22 runs respectively.
Earlier bating first after winning the toss, FCC, put a formidable total of 158 on the board. Imran Haroon(53) and Asif Khan (51) were the main scorer for FCC.For WCC, medium pacers Ajaz Nazir was the pick of the bowlers claiming three wickets, Hilal Ahmad also bagged two wickets.
The tournament is organized by Hyderya Cricket Club, and is sponsored by Toyota Ansari Motors.
