Search operation continues in Harfrada forests after soldiers killings

Baramulla: Search operations continued for the third running day today in Hafrada forests of the neighbouring Kupwara district where four soldiers were killed by a group of militants on Monday.

The soldiers of 6 RR, Para commandoes and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of police continued searches in the dense forests of Hafrada to trace a heavily armed group of militants, who shot dead four soldiers in a fierce gunfight on Monday, official sources told Kashmir Reader today.

The search teams, officials said have also pressed into service choppers to track the militants, who are on the run.

“Even sniffer dogs have been used to reach the militants,” sources said, adding “ However, no contact has been established yet,”
