3 lakh households without electricity in JK

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that about three lakh households do not reap benefits of electricity in the state.

In response to a question during the ongoing assembly session, the government said that 296344 households are still reeling under darkness.

As per figures, Jammu has the highest number of households (187169) without electricity compared to the Kashmir Valley (109175).

In Kashmir, Kupwara has maximum (32577) while Ganderbal has minimum (4427) homes without electricity.

While in Jammu province, the district jammu has maximum (57986) while Udhampur has minimum (2183) households lacking electricity.
