Srinagar: The Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC), Kashmir, is holding a two-day ‘19th North Zone Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine Conference’ on October 9 and 10.
An official statement said the technical sessions will be conducted at GMC, Srinagar while inaugural function will be held at SKICC on 9th October at 6:30 pm.
“The theme of the conference is ‘Emerging & Re-emerging diseases: the public health challenge in 21st century’. The main topics will be based on newer diseases like H1N1, Hepatitis, SARS and on health informatics and around 250 national delegates are attending. Around 85 scientific research papers will be presented,” the statement said.
“Among guest speakers, prominent scientists include Dr. Narendra K Arora Executive Director INCLEN, Chairman National AEFI Committee, Chairman National Committee for Certification of Polio Eradication and Dr. Jai P Narain former director, Communicable Diseases, World Health Organization (SEARO), senior faculty from SKIMS & GMC Srinagar,” it added.
