No drug with cow urine supplied in dispensaries, Lal Singh

Baramulla: Health Minister Choudhary Lal Singh today rejected the allegations of the veteran resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani over the supply of drugs prepared with cow urine across the dispensaries in the state.

“Leave aside cow, no drug is made from any animal in Jammu and Kashmir. I’m heading this department secont time and I have never come to know that urine of any animal is used in drug preparation. The person who said it, is making illogical statements,” Singh said while talking to reporters at the district hospital, Handwara this afternoon.

He was replying to a question about the allegations leveled by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman that cow urine-based medicine “Sanjeewani Vati” was being prepared by the Indian System of Medicine (ISM) and sent to Kashmir for free distribution at government dispensaries.

Replying to another question over the alleged negligent attitude of the doctors at the district hospital Baramulla, he said that any employee found absent from duty will be terminated from the services.

“We will not spare those who skip their duties,” he said.
