PaK resident detained in Poonch for “Jihadi Magazines”

Jammu:  A resident of Pakistan administered  Kashmir (PaK) has been arrested by police from Poonch district of the state for possessing objectionable literature.

Mohammad Aslam Malik (68), a resident of Rawalpindi, was detained yesterday when he reached Poonch on the weekly Poonch-Rawalakote bus after he was found carrying some “Jihadi literature”, police said.

He  had boarded the bus to meet the members of his divided family in Rajouri district, they said.

“During the screening of his luggage, police found two Jihadi magazines that he was carrying. So he was detained for questioning,” they said.

Malik, who was born in India, had crossed over to PaK in 1965 and had earlier come twice to Rajouri to meet his brothers. This was his third visit, police said.

Under the rules, a person can travel three times in two years on the cross LoC permit.

The issue of Malik carrying “Jihadi literature” had already been taken up with the authorities in PaK and he was likely to be deported to PaK today from Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point, they said. (PTI)
