Court grants bail to Asiya Andrabi

Srinagar: A local court here on Thursday granted bail to Dukhtaran-e-Millat President Syeda Asiya Andrabi, who was arrested by police last Friday in connection with hoisting of Pakistani flags on the India’s Independence Day here on August 14.
The bail was granted by first additional session judge Madan Lal, Asiya’s counsel advocate Mir Shafaqat Hussain said.
He said that the order was served to the jail authorities but till late in the evening Asiya was not released.
Asiya, who was arrested along with her personal secretary, Fehmeeda Sofi, from Soura residence at around 12:30 am on Friday, is presently under police remand after being booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
