Srinagar: Awami Itihad Party (AIP) president Er Rashid Wednesday said that he will sacrifice a bovine in Rajouri the Eid-ul-Azha eve.
He also condemned the seizure of cattle in Jammu and termed the police action and arrest of traders involved in the trade as “unacceptable and interference in religious affairs”.
“Seizing of bovine animals in Jammu should be an eye-opener for those puppets and ill-informed pseudo intellectuals, who have been arguing that it doesn’t make a difference if the ban on beef continues,” Rashid said in a statement. According to the statement, Rashid will be celebrating Eid at Rajouri and as a mark of protest against the police action, will sacrifice a bovine there.
He said the “operation” being carried out in Jammu is a matter of serious concern and an attempt to demoralize the Muslims of the province”.
“The ill designs of government will be defeated by will of the people.” AIP president said and expressed solidarity with Jammu Muslims. Appealing the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to “hear to the voices of masses”, Rashid urged him to “not disgrace Muslims further by succumbing to BJP’s communal and criminal politics”.
