Jammu: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) national general secretary, Ram Madhav on Wednesday said that it was the Peoples Democratic Party’s responsibility to deal with the beef ban controversy.
“The coalition partners are working on a region-wise basis, so it is the responsibility of the PDP to maintain calm over the issue of ban on the sale of beef in Kashmir besides implementing the court orders,” Madhav told BJP legislators at a party meeting here, according to a BJP leader who attended the meeting.
“Jo Karega Wahi Barega,” Madhav said, in reference to the PDP’s reaction to the ban.
Reportedly, Madhav also pulled up non-performing leaders of the party and exhorted upon them to concentrate on governance, instead of flaring up controversies. While convening separate meetings with cabinet ministers and MLAs/MLCs, the national general secretary directed the BJP leaders to concentrate on developmental issues to provide good governance to the people.
“We are here to perform….perform to provide good governance to the people who have brought us to power. There are wide range of issues concerning the people, let sort them out, ” the BJP leader, quoting Madhav, said.
He added that the General Secretary also suggested to the legislators that they should maintain discipline in the assembly and should avoid arguments.
“There are a lot of hiccups in running the government, but we should not divert from development.”
“The present alliance in Jammu and Kashmir is under surveillance and I am happy to say that most of the leaders are performing, but some leaders are busy in cheap politics, therefore they should mend their ways and concentrate on promises made to the people,” Madhav, according to the BJP leader, told BJP legislators.
He, reportedly, also asked the BJP leaders to make further efforts to strengthen the coalition government.
