Protests in Kupwara after army vehicle injures 3 women pedestrians

Baramulla: Protests broke out in the frontier district of Kupwara after an army vehicle hit and injured three women pedestrians, including a mother daughter duo this morning.

The army vehicle was on way to Chowkibal from Kupwara this morning when it hit the three women pedestrians near Panzgam village on the Kupwara-Chowkibal road, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. The injured identified as Naza Begum, her daughter Pakeeza and another girl Sameena, were removed by the locals to the nearby hospital.

Witnesses said that the accident triggered strong protests by the locals. The protesters hurled rocks at the army vehicle to give vent to their anger, they said.
