Geelani’s passport suspended for four weeks

Srinagar: Government has suspended the passport of Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ai Geelani for four weeks, news gathering agency Press Trust of India reported.

The passport of the veteran resistance leader has apparently been suspended to prevent him from attending the meeting of foreign ministers of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Kashmir Contact Group scheduled to be held in New York from September 27 to October 01.
Besides Geelani, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Asiya Andrabi were also invited by the OIC.
